Certainty there are a ton of jump stat cheaters out there. Pretty often on HOC2 I see some NEW player come on, hit insane jumps, and get on top 20 list.
One of them when called out freely admitted to cheating, stating that all the top players cheat, and "funny that records started flying after zpamm quit" (I didn't know he quit but that's what the cheater said).
On another instance one of these top-20 cheaters became quite confrontational after I called him out, specing me and insulting my strafes, saying that he would crash the server if I responded - which he did after I commented "With cheats like yours maybe you all can get into a major". Worth it lol.
These are just the two most blatant cases, I see OBVIOUS jump stat cheaters at least every couple weeks on HOC2 - obvious as in the above contexts, I don't know if I could tell by specing them and examining their strafes...
Cheating jump stats is unfortunately something that is comparatively easy to do in ways that is indistinguishable from a legit player. I think the status quo of not having a global jump stat leaderboard and focusing on map runs is the right thing to do. For jump stats the only thing I would trust is a hand cam (or hardware verification, but no one cares THAT much).
The second clip looks pretty sus to me. The jump at 10s is straight but WAY off course, like he clicked his auto-strafe button too early or something. Maybe a legit player hopping while looking away from the screen? 😆
Ebun
Hand cam or it didn't happen.
Also, yes there are a good number of players that are very good at LJ, but there are more that are cheating.
