Hello lovely people,
We've had a small discussion over at the LoB Discord regarding the idea of changing KZT perfs to consistently give 57.3 height (single perf height) to reduce their complexity ever so slightly. This wouldn't affect any current wrs as far as I can tell as no map requires the player to get the additional .x height from offset perfs to climb an offgrid block to save time. Also the distance gained from an offgrid perf is very small and shouldn't be relevant to any current maptime.
Why would this be a positive change?
First and foremost having always the same height when perfing would reduce complexity when perfing into very specific ledgegrabs when grinding for some very optimised wrs where you had to pay attention to the way you perfed into some specific blocks during the run. I guess an argument could be made here that this will reduce the skillceiling because knowing what height you have depending on the amount of perfs and heightoffsets in the chain is a thing. However this is something that needs to be learned situationally since it changes with every combination of heightchanges per combo.
The other big thing this would bring is the possibility to have stats from any jump offset height be registered. Meaning you could surf into your bhop, jump from higher ground etc. This would not only allow people different pre options for statting but also make more of their stats valid mid run.
The last advantage affects pretty much only statters who grind mbhops since they wouldn't require obscure techs for max height/distance while statting.
TL;DR
Remove some complexity from perfs, make all bhop stats always register while giving statters more options for preing into bhops.
